HOW TO STYLE YOUR HOME THIS SPRING - KEEPING ON TREND

Posted on

When it comes to making your home look and feel funky fresh, it only seems right to start the process as Spring officially hits full bloom. With the rather ominous presence of Storm Katie over the Easter weekend, there might be many of you who would rather batten down the hatches and boost the radiators to full blast. However, as the sun begins to peek through slightly more frequently, we thought we’d give a run-down of our favourite trends for 2016, and how we intend to make our homes that bit brighter with them.

It seems to us that light pastels are just about everywhere at the moment – and we can’t get enough of them. From cool interiors that ooze minimalist sophistication, the hints of pastel colour that can merge effortlessly throughout a room bring a uniquely zen atmosphere. These travel suitcases from Barker & Stonehouse are such a subtly cool piece to lift any room, and we particularly love how a Rathbornes candle can perch so dreamily next to them as well…

With a backdrop of pastels, a lot can be said for a statement piece of gold or copper. We’re not talking the real deal (unless you really want to splash the cash!), but anything from a small trinket, to a large vase sitting atop a mantelpiece – we’re loving what they can do for a room this season. We spotted this gorgeous bowl on notonthehighstreet and fell in love pretty instantaneously...

Lighting is undoubtedly all the rage as we head to the summer – and we’re not entirely surprised as to why. Here at Rathbornes we are obsessing over the Culinary Concept tripod lamps in the Charles Farris store in Battersea. Distinctly vintage, with a modern twist, one of these sitting in the corner of a room will make you feel like a film star before you can even think twice.
