Seanchaí Dún
The seanchaí (pronounce Shann-a-key) was Ireland's keeper of stories, the voice by the fire who carried the memory of a place forward. The story began with Ember, the spark. Dún is the shelter, the safe place where the story is told.
Built around fig and leather, Dún opens with fig leaf, bergamot and cardamom, settling into leather, oud and smoked tea over sandalwood, vetiver and amber. Not the scent of the fire itself, but the feeling of it: an old Irish room lined with books, the door closed and the world left outside.
The rooms where stories are kept
Every story needs a shelter, a room with the door closed, the world outside, a single flame lit against the dark. Seanchaí Dún is built for that hour. Fig carries its late-summer warmth through the window; leather and worn books line the walls; sandalwood and amber settle low and warm, like firelight in the grate. Each piece in the collection takes its colour from the fire. Where Ember glowed in warm amber, Dún arrives in deep purple, the colour of the fig at its ripest and the flame burning low.
Fig leaf, bergamot, cardamom
The first to rise. Green fig leaf and bright bergamot lift from the flame, warmed by cardamom, like a door opening onto the evening.
Leather, oud, smoked tea
The heart of the story. Leather and dark oud settle in as the candle warms, threaded with smoked tea and the hush of fire.
Sandalwood, vanilla, amber
The last to leave. Sandalwood, vanilla and amber linger long after the flame, keeping the room safe within the walls of the dún.
