Our Commitment
We at Rathbornes are trying to do our bit by moving towards more sustainable ecofriendly raw materials. We are passionate to create a better world. We are huge supporters of the All Ireland Pollinator Plan and the National Biodiversity Plan - where local farmers, authorities, schools, gardeners and businesses just like ourselves, come together to try to create an Ireland where our bees can survive and thrive.
Sourcing
We combine beeswax, rapeseed and coconut to produce a truly sustainable 100% natural wax while ensuring a clean, slow, perfect burn. Each of our waxes are eco-friendly and sourced from entirely natural processes without intensive farming or GMO’s. We also use 100% natural cotton wicks. Rapeseed is grown throughout the UK and Ireland therefore reducing the carbon footprint.
Packaging
All of our packaging is made using FSC Mix Paper/Card which means that the paper is made from a mix of FSC paper (paper from sustainable forests)
recycled paper and/or controlled wood (material from acceptable sources that can be mixed with FSC certified material in products carrying the FSC Mix label).
Recycling
All of our glass - green, black, gold or clear is sprayed with water based paint suitable for recycling. Don’t forget you can re-purpose your Rathbornes glass at home too.
